Imola celebrates 75 years of Formula 1 with an extraordinary exhibition of history, passion and speed
The exhibition takes the visitor on an exciting journey through rare memorabilia, iconic collectors’ items and works of art granted by some of Italy’s most renowned collectors. An authentic tribute to the legendary history of Formula 1 and the deep bond that unites Imola, the heart of the Motor Valley, to the world of racing.
The exhibition is divided into two main venues: Sala Ex Camera di Commercio in Imola hosts the Galleria dei Campioni (Champions’ Gallery), with suits, original helmets and trophies that belonged to the great rainbow drivers.
Among the most significant pieces are the original racing suits of Ayrton Senna (1991, McLaren Honda), Jody Scheckter (1979, Ferrari), Fernando Alonso (2011, Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (2023, Mercedes), as well as the historic helmets of Nino Farina (1950), Alberto Ascari (1955), Jackie Stewart (replica 1970), Ayrton Senna (1991), Michael Schumacher (1993) and Max Verstappen (2021).
Palazzo Tozzoni, also in the historic centre of Imola, hosts a visual and symbolic celebration of the Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari, with a selection of historic photographs and iconic memorabilia.
These include the overalls of Lando Norris (2023, McLaren), Lewis Hamilton (2021, Mercedes), Max Verstappen (2021, Red Bull Racing) and Charles Leclerc (2024, Ferrari), together with the original helmets of Ayrton Senna (1989), Michael Schumacher (1993), Lando Norris (2024), George Russell (2024) and Charles Leclerc (2021).
A narrative made of legendary overtaking, epic moments and unique details, which tell the technical, sporting and emotional evolution of Formula 1 and its deep connection with Imola.
The exhibition is curated by Jonathan Giacobazzi and Matteo Macchiavelli, with the collaboration of Marco Battisti, Halmo and Collecto.
It is promoted by the Municipality of Imola in partnership with Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Imola and Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola, with the support of Regione Emilia-Romagna with the Sport Valley project, Consorzio Con.Ami with the Terre&Motori project, Motor Valley and IF Imola Faenza Tourism Company.
