The Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna , placed inside Dozza's Fortress, is the largest and most qualified showcase for the wines of our region.
Among the ancient castle walls, the wineries have been perfectly restored, and are available for tasting and sales of DOC and DOCG regional wines, representing about 200 members, with over 600 wines selected by a qualified panel of experts.
Since 1970 the Enoteca Regionale (literally, the ‘regional winehouse’) has been working to promote the region’s wine-making heritage. The Enoteca organises numerous initiatives and aims to provide a proper understanding of how wine should best be enjoyed. They also reach out to new generations, doing so by working alongside institutions, researchers and associated wine producers. Locating the Enoteca in the suggestive cellars of the Rocca di Dozza was a conscious decision, as Dozza has close historic ties to wine and is positioned where the cultures of Emilia and Romagna merge. This is no mere museum, shop or wine bar. It is, in fact, all three together. It stores over 1000 different wines from more than 200 producers across the region, all of which are available for purchase (the wines are selected by a Technical Commission). Expert sommeliers are on hand to provide guidance and help visitors discover local wine-making customs. Furthermore, the ‘Enoteca Regionale’ organises tastings, courses and numerous initiatives throughout the year.
