You can see the remains of a peripheral late-roman necropolis of ancient Imola (Forum Cornelii) and of the ancient medieval town of Sancti Cassiano, in addition to the remains of a palaeo-christian basilica of the 5th century, probably built over the tomb of S. Cassiano.
The necropolis dates back to the 3rd, 4th and 5th centuries B.C., though it has recycled materials of previous ages. Over the necropolis there are structures made of recycled bricks and river stones that probably belonged to a medieval building, identified with that of the ancient Castrum Sancti Cassiani.
