The Dozza Città d'Arte Foundation is pleased to present ‘THE POLES WHO LIBERATED ITALY’, an exhibition curated by the ANPI of Dozza.
The opening will take place on Saturday 28 February 2026 at 4 pm, with free admission subject to availability.
With this exhibition, the ANPI of Dozza intends to pay tribute and give due prominence to the fundamental role played by the 2nd Polish Corps in Italy, which was instrumental in the liberation of our territory.
The village of Dozza and Monte del Re were liberated on 15 April 1945 by the ‘Folgore’ Combat Group, coming from the south; between Dozza and the Via Emilia, the ‘Friuli’ Combat Group, which had descended from Montecatone, was operating. Both were part of the 2nd Polish Corps, which was advancing along the Via Emilia towards Bologna.
The exhibition, which has already been presented in several cities on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, including Bologna and Cesena, will be inaugurated on 28 February at 4 pm at the Museo della Rocca in Dozza. Civil authorities, the President of the Fondazione Dozza Città d'Arte and the curators of the exhibition will be in attendance.
